Our bathroom reno plansβ¦
This year, Iβm hoping to embark on the renovation of our bathroom, so Iβve put together a little moodboard of how Iβd like it to look. Iβve finally managed to persuade Jake to let me have my pink girly bathroom of dreams, so I canβt wait to see it all come to life.
We have a small family bathroom (but thankfully much bigger than the bathroom in my old house!) and in a dream world Iβd have a separate roll top bath, and shower unit, but we just donβt have the room. So to compromise, I think weβre opting for a single ended roll top bath with a shower screen. The other option is to have a full roll top bath with a circular shower curtain rail on the ceiling, but Iβm not sure that will work practically, and weβre worried water will end up everywhere.
Bathroom Wall Tiles
I honestly have no idea what tiles we will eventually choose, but most of the pictures I save on Pinterest are bathrooms with these beautiful nude pink rectangular tiles, so I feel like those will be a close match to what we do pick. I want my pink bathroom of dreams, but I donβt want it to be a garish pink, I would rather it was more of a nude or blush pink, keeping it quite classy, whilst also looking girly and cute. Itβs certainly going to be a fun project to do!
Bathroom Floor Tiles
In terms of floor tiles, I really have no idea what to go for. At the moment my thoughts are something quite light, possibly marble? But in my old bathroom I had some lovely patterned tiles and I really liked those β Iβm just not sure if they would fit in with the theme as I donβt want the bathroom to look overly busy with it being quite a small space. I also love the idea of Parisian chequerboard tiles, but Iβm not sure if we will save these for a different space.
Bathroom Hardware
I plan for all the fittings to be a nice antique brass shade but we havenβt looked into these and the cost yet. I think this will definitely be something Iβll budget for as I think brass hardware + pink tiles is a dream combination! I donβt actually mind my current silver traditional bath tap, but I canβt imagine a silver shower unit looking as aesthetically pleasing as a brass one.
Bathroom Vanity
The bathroom vanity that I want is the exact one Iβve included in my moodboard, Iβve fully fallen in love with the idea of an oak, or oak effect vanity with drawers and a slab of real marble on top. Then I think weβll opt for a bowl sink and a tap that comes out of the wall if itβs possible.
Jake is going to be doing our bathroom himself so thereβs likely limitations on some things due to how complicated they will be, and our funds, but Iβm sure however it turns out it will be gorgeous as he is really talented at DIY and amazing at bringing my visions to life. Come back for the finished bathroom sometime in the future π
